(St. John’s, NL - July 25, 2024) — The 2025 Canada Games Host Society is excited to announce a series of community events and welcome CAA as an official partner to build excitement and kick off celebrations marking One Year Out from the 2025 Canada Games.

From August 8-25, 2025, the Games will bring together over 4,800 athletes, coaches, mission staff, and managers across 19 different sports for the largest multi-sport event in the country. With a forecasted economic impact of over $120 million, the 30th edition of the Canada Games will be one of the largest events hosted in Newfoundland and Labrador’s history.

“We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the public,” said Karen Sherriffs, CEO of the 2025 Canada Games Host Society. “The One Year Out Celebration presented by CAA will not only mark the countdown to the Games but also bring together athletes, partners and the community in anticipation and enthusiasm for what promises to be an unforgettable event.”

The One Year Out Celebration will feature family-friendly events and activities to build excitement and anticipation for the 2025 Canada Games.

One Year Out Celebration presented by CAA:

• August 5-11: Community Puzzle Hunt
• August 5: Community Baseball Game featuring the U21 provincial female baseball team versus local special guests. Enjoy an evening of baseball, entertainment, a free community BBQ, activities for all ages, and much more at St. Pat’s Ballpark from 6-10 p.m.
• August 6: Online volunteer registration portal launches
• August 8: One Year Out from the 2025 Canada Games
