• The 2025 Canada Games is committed to ensuring that both English and French languages are equally integrated into all aspects of planning, execution, and experiences leading up to and during the Games.
• Through the Official Languages Program, we will work closely with our French partners to create a welcoming and accessible experience for athletes and visitors, and provide the Francophone community a larger platform and heightened presence in the province long after the Games end.
• We're actively engaging with Francophone communities to explore how we can weave their values into the fabric of the 2025 Canada Games, thereby amplifying our collective impact and leaving a lasting legacy of inclusivity and unity.
• The 2025 Canada Games Official Languages Committee is made up of local, provincial, and national representatives with a common goal of advancing and celebrating the French language and culture in Newfoundland and Labrador and laying the foundation for ongoing recognition of French culture beyond 2025.
• The 2025 Canada Games Host Society is proud to offer all communications, marketing, signage, announcements, on-site communications, and much more in both official languages.
• Through our Festival Program, we aim to engage and showcase French artists, performers, and cultural elements throughout different components of the Games.
• Our goal is to have a minimum of 10 percent of our volunteers, at least 500, be bilingual. We look forward to working with local French organizations to help us recruit volunteers and exceed our goal.
